Nancy Peach Biography

A native of the Washington Metro area, Nancy Peach takes advantage of the many opportunities available to paint the beauty of Maryland, from the shores of the Chesapeake Bay to the peaceful rural landscapes close to her home. ”It is easy to maintain a high level of emotional intensity with the variety of subject matter within 100 miles of my home”. Nancy is considered one of the premier luminist painters in the romantic tradition today.

Her paintings appear to be a perfect reproduction of a scene, however, they are an enrichment of nature transformed by the artists personal vision and imagination. Ms Peach comes from a long line of established American artists and many of her family members are involved in the performing arts, so it is no surprise that Nancy’s talent and artistic ability would lead her on a lifetime pursuit of her art. High aesthetic standards combined with subtle blendings and harmonies help her in the creation of a work of art that enriches the visual experiences of the viewer.

People universally relate to her paintings because of her attention to detail, light and color; sensitively rendered with a luminosity and tonal beauty that is inspiring. Although her paintings are uniquely refreshing in their color, modulation and perspective, they owe much to the Dutch and Flemish old masters. Growing up in close proximity to many prestigious art institutions has enabled her to study at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC, as well as the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria VA. Nancy maintains a studio in Davidsonville MD where she lives with her husband and children.
